Applications

Concrete, Grout, Mortar, Render, paving & general building uses.

The following is the ratios required for some of the different applications of this product:
STANDARD MIX RATIOS (by volume)
Applications
Cement Sand Aggregate
Concrete 1 2 3
Render 1 4 - +1 Clay
Mortar 1 6 - +1 Hydrated Lime

Instructions
Step 1 Combine cement, clean aggregate and sand in correct proportion in a non-porous vessel. Large jobs require a concrete mixer.
Step 2 Add drinkable water gradually and mix thoroughly. Use enough water to make a workable mix. Excess water ruins good concrete.
Step 3 Use the product immediately after mixing.

Blue Metal 20mm

Off White Cement is for use where a lighter colour finish is required. Off White Cement is a special purpose cement manufactured to comply with the Type HE requirements of Australian Standard AS3972. Suits oxide addition for a coloured finish but is also lighter colour for a brighter finish.

Applications
Mortar, Render, bricks, pavers & pool building.

Rapid Set Concrete Mix

Rapid Set concrete is manufactured using cement, sand and aggregates and is formulated to harden rapidly without mixing. This product is highly suitable for fixing fence and non-load bearing pergola posts, clothes hoists and many other non-structural uses.

Applications
Clothes Lines, Letter Boxes, Posts, Uprights, other non-structural applications

Instructions

STEP 1 Place the post or pole in the hole and provide support so that it does not fall over. Note: the hole in which the pole will be placed should be pre-wet to limit the absorption of the water into which the Rapid Set Concrete is to be poured. Sandy and/or fast draining soils may require a plastic lining to prevent seepage of water into the ground.
STEP 2 Measure out the correct amount of water and pour into the hole (2.4 litres per 20kg bag)
STEP 3 Pour the bag of Rapid Set Concrete making sure it is evenly distributed around the post or pole without delay. Supports may be removed after 1 hour, depending on the ambient temperature. It is advisable to test the stability of the post before removing the supports.

Concrete Mix

A blend of cement, aggregate and sand, designed for use in projects where a quality concrete is required. Ideal for garden edges, mower strips, paths, garden slabs, foundations, footings, posts and uprights for pergolas and decks. Quality blend of cement, sand and aggregate, Great for small jobs. Convenient & easy to use.

2 bags cover a 450x500 slab (approx 75mm thickness)

Applications
Garden Edges, Garden Slabs, Posts, Uprights, paths and footings

General information
STEP 1 If using a concrete mixer, add water (1.5 to 2 litres of clean water per bag of Concrete Mix) to the mixing vessel. Empty the Concrete Mix blend slowly into the water and mix thoroughly. If needed, add additional water to achieve a workable mix. Too much water ruins good concrete.
OR
if using a wheelbarrow, place Concrete Mix in the barrow, create a hollow and add 1.5 to 2 litres of water per bag and mix. If needed, add additional water to achieve a workable mix. Too much water ruins good concrete.

STEP 2 Place the well mixed concrete in the formwork filling all corners, and compact. Level the concrete with a straight edge and finish the top surface with a wooden float or steel trowel. Keep the surface moist for 7 days to achieve maximum strength. Formwork may be removed after 24 hours. Don't walk on the concrete for at least 3 days after placing.

Mortar Mix

Mortar Mix is a carefully selected and proportioned blend of graded sand, cement and hydrated lime. Mortar Mix is suitable for the laying of bricks, masonry blocks and stonework. In addition, Mortar Mix is suitable for general-purpose mortar applications. Excellent workability and perfect for small jobs – convenient & easy to use
Covers 20 house bricks or 10 masonry blocks per 20kg bag (10mm mortar joint)

Applications
Brick & Block Laying, Paving, Edges, general mortar repairs

STEP 1 Place the required amount of Mortar Mix into a wheelbarrow, plastic bucket or on a non-absorbent surface making a ‘well’ in the centre of the powder for the water.
STEP 2 Add the clean, pre-measured water gradually (3.5 litres of water per 20kg bag), making sure that it does not wash any of the cement away and mix thoroughly to obtain an even and consistent mix. Only mix as much mortar as you can use within one (1) hour.
STEP 3 Apply the mix with a trowel. Allow the Mortar Mix to stiffen to touch dry before attempting to rake or finishing the mortar joints.

Sand and Cement

Sand & Cement is a carefully proportioned blend of graded sands and cement, designed for use as a general purpose mortar product. Sand & Cement can be used in certain handyman, landscaping and plumbing applications and is suitable for use with various substrates. Approx 7.5 litres of mortar per 20kg bag. Convenient & easy to use. Further construction can take place after 24 hrs

Applications
Garden Edges, Paver Jointfill, Shower Bases, Toilet Pan Bedding, general handyman applications

Instructions

STEP 1 Empty the required amount of Sand & Cement from the bag into a mixing device – either a wheelbarrow, concrete mixer or other non-porous vessel.
STEP 2 Add water gradually (approx 3.5 litres) and blend thoroughly to achieve a workable mix. Note: excess water weakens the strength of the mortar.
STEP 3 Apply mortar as required to complete the task at hand.
STEP 4 When the mortar is touch dry, finish with either a clean, damp sponge, steel trowel or wooden float.

Gap Sand (Bagged)

Gap Sand is a special blend of graded fine sand and sand additives designed to lock into place alltypes of brick and block paving. Quick & easy to use. Forms a workable yet stable joint between pavers. Inhibits weed & insect infestation. Minimises paver distortion.

Covers approx 3.5m2 per 20kg bag (3mm gap, brick shaped pavers)

Applications
Paver Jointfill

Instructions
STEP 1 Lay pavers as per manufacturer’s instructions. Sweep Gap Sand into all joints using a stiff broom, until all gaps are filled.
STEP 2 Work a vibrating compactor, rubber mallet or similar piece of equipment over the entire paved area to assist the flow of filler into the joints and to ensure the joints are firm.
STEP 3 Thoroughly sweep the paved surface, topping up where necessary and remove all excess surface sand.
STEP 4 Mist spray the paved surface ensuring that all areas receive a thorough wetting. Avoid heavy spraying or flooding of areas. When Gap Sand is dry and firm, paving is ready for traffic

Renderers Clay

Renderer’s Clay is used as a plasticiser in mortar and render applications where sands are low in clay content. A plasticiser for cement rendering and plastering. Improves workability of mortars and renders. Filler for non colour sensitive applications.

Applications
Mortar, Render

Instructions
Use as little Renderer’s Clay as possible to produce the required workability of the mortar or render. Any mix designs incorporating Renderer’s Clay are dependent on the sand used.
