Recycled Crusher Sand (Paving Sand)

A course sand made up from crushed concrete bricks etc. Compacts very solidly making it ideal for the sub base for paving and retaining walls at a depth of approximately 100mm.

Pavers should not be laid on top, a 30mm layer of river sand should be spread on top of the recycled crusher sand.

Washed river sand is also ideal for propagation as it is a free draining sand that will still hold moisture. Also useful for gardens for plants which require a free draining mix, a small amount of river sand mixed in with garden mix will create a soil ideal for natives.

River Sand (Paving Sand)

A course washed sand, ideal for paving. Being a washed sand, it is recommended as a base under pavers reducing risk of leaching through your pavers. Sand will compact slightly to create a firm but flexible base for pavers. Compaction should be accounted for at about 10 - 15% we purchasing this sand.

Washed river sand is also ideal for propagation as it is a free draining sand that will still hold moisture. Also useful for gardens for plants which require a free draining mix, a small amount of river sand mixed in with garden mix will create a soil ideal for natives.

Sydney/Newcastle Sand

A fine sand with no clay fines. Used for cement rendering, tiling, concrete mix and joints between pavers. It is also the ideal sand for sandpits.

Yellow Brickies Sand

Yellow brickies sand has a higher clay content then sydney or river sand. Ideal to be used for mixing mortar for any bricklaying or block laying job. Also useful for bedding above ground swimming pools.

Also know as Yellow bush sand.

White Brickies Sand (Pure White)

Pure white brickies sand with a higher clay content then sydney or river sand. As the sand is pure white it is ideal for mixing with white cement to create white mortar joints. Ideal to be used for mixing mortar for any bricklaying job. Also known as white bush sand.

Fill Sand (Screened & Clean)

Ideal for under slabs or general filling before concreting and site leveling.

Gap Sand (Bagged)

Gap Sand is a special blend of graded fine sand and sand additives designed to lock into place alltypes of brick and block paving. Quick & easy to use. Forms a workable yet stable joint between pavers. Inhibits weed & insect infestation. Minimises paver distortion.

Covers approx 3.5m2 per 20kg bag (3mm gap, brick shaped pavers)

Instructions
STEP 1 Lay pavers as per manufacturer’s instructions. Sweep Gap Sand into all joints using a stiff broom, until all gaps are filled.
STEP 2 Work a vibrating compactor, rubber mallet or similar piece of equipment over the entire paved area to assist the flow of filler into the joints and to ensure the joints are firm.
STEP 3 Thoroughly sweep the paved surface, topping up where necessary and remove all excess surface sand.
STEP 4 Mist spray the paved surface ensuring that all areas receive a thorough wetting. Avoid heavy spraying or flooding of areas. When Gap Sand is dry and firm, paving is ready for traffic
